Speed vs velocity

You can’t afford reaching product market fit in 10 years.

I want to start by welcoming all of you of signed up to this newsletter recently. I appreciate you being here.

Velocity

You can’t afford reaching product market fit in 10 years.

Those days are gone.

Investors and employees want to see early proof that you’re onto something and not just building a cash-burning factory.

After working with so many startups, I’ve started to see a pattern that separates the ones that reach product-market fit vs the ones that don’t.

That is the velocity in which they ship.

Notice I say velocity and not speed. There’s an important difference:

✱ Speed is how fast you ship features
✱ Velocity is how fast you ship the right features

Having a system for constantly discovering valuable problems develops your product intuition.

It’s what helps you make the right decisions on what to focus your energy on.

My favorite things this week

Fountn: Came across this beautiful website that curates design resources. Unlike other websites that do the same, this one doesn’t feel overwhelming. The large thumbnails make it easy to browse visually.

Refero: An user interface patterns aggregator. It offers quite a lot of free content and you can upgrade for a lot more. What I like about it is how well organized it is, especially the UX patterns category. The CMD+K search is powerful and the bottom navbar makes jumping between categories a breeze.

That’s all for this week.

Take care,
